Rich Eisen’s ‘Run Rich Run’ Event Generates Millions in Donations for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital

“Rich Eisen Celebrates 20 Years of ‘Run Rich Run’ Charity Event at Rose Bowl”

Rich Eisen, the NFL Network sportscaster, has turned a moment of boredom into a charitable tradition that has raised over $7 million for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. It all started back in 2005 when Eisen, egged on by former NFL player Terrell Davis, decided to run the 40-yard dash in a suit and tie at the NFL scouting combine. Little did he know that his impromptu run would become an annual event known as “Run Rich Run.”

This year marked the 20th anniversary of “Run Rich Run,” and Eisen was joined by former NFL players Todd Gurley and Andrew Whitworth, as well as newly hired Los Angeles Chargers coach Jim Harbaugh, at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, Calif. Notable donors such as Paul Rudd, Kevin Costner, Jon Hamm, and Larry David also showed their support by appearing in videos during the broadcast.

Despite being teased for his slow times, Eisen remains committed to raising money for children facing terminal illnesses. “The key is to get through in one piece and raise as much money as possible for St. Jude,” he says.

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital covers all expenses for families of children with cancer and works tirelessly to advance cures and prevention for pediatric diseases. Donations are accepted year-round through the St. Jude website.

Eisen’s dedication to this cause has not gone unnoticed, and his annual run continues to inspire generosity and support for the children and families served by St. Jude.
